![]() ![]() Hassett is floating a plan that would keep Pocusset open to pedestrians and bicyclists, but closed to all other traffic except for EMS vehicles, which need to retain access to the road. “I don’t have that kind of money,” Hassett said.Ī number of Pocusset residents complained about the lack of appropriate signage indicating the road’s closure, insisting that some motorists continue to drive it at high speeds toward Greenfield Avenue Others asserted that the closed stretch of Pocusset has given rise to “certain activities,” such as drug use, and asked that the area be more strictly patrolled. ![]() The Department of Public Works had planned to resurface Pocusset, but during a pre-construction survey, inspectors discovered the road was undermined by a cavity of between 12 and 15 feet, two areas of significant washout on the downhill side, and total obstruction of all storm and French drains.Īn engineering firm hired to inspect and evaluate the road told the DPW it would cost $600,000 to $700,000 to make the road a viable option for motor vehicle traffic. “We have hillside issues and storm water issues, but we haven’t viewed it as a safety hazard until recently.” “It’s been a problem child since I’ve been in this position,” Hassett said. The city plans to keep it closed to motor vehicle traffic for at least the next two years after deeming it egregiously unsafe for car travel. Plans for Pocusset Street, which runs downhill east to west through Schenley Park from the southeast corner of Squirrel Hill, are more uncertain. The bridge, which will cost $15 to $20 million, is projected to open to traffic in May 2017, Hassett said. It will also include a 5 feet wide, dedicated bike lane. Travel lanes will remain the same, with two lanes of traffic heading toward Schenley Park and one toward Greenfield. It will be an ornate, steel arch-adorned span with urns and period lighting. The new bridge will be named the Beechwood Boulevard Bridge as a nod to its predecessor. The demolition will close that stretch of the Parkway for the week between Christmas and the New Year, when the highway typically sees the lightest traffic. On Christmas Eve that year, a chorus line of trucks will dump at least 10 feet of dirt on the Parkway beneath the bridge to cushion its Christmas Day-implosion. The current plan calls for the bridge to close in October 2015 so crews may begin dismantling it. The Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition held a public meeting Tuesday evening to review the city’s plans, both for the bridge’s closure and the future of the Schenley Park leg of Pocusset Street, which has been closed for several months. Oldham Council’s assistant director of highways and engineering, Tony Noblet, said: “The Ladhill Bridge has been permanently closed to traffic. “Labour ducked out of solving this traffic problem last year when it failed to require the housing developer at Greenfield Bowling Club to build a new road bridge across Chew Brook.” “The more local residents and businesses who express their concerns, the better chance we have of the borough revoking its decision.”Ĭouncillor Richard Knowles said: “Closure adds a lot of time to each trip into central Greenfield and Uppermill. It will make a great deal of difference if as many people as possible submit their own personal letters of objection. “It is certainly not too late to do something about this. “Residents living on or near Manchester Road in the Friezland Lane and Dacres area will be less inclined to go to local shops, having a serious affect on the life and prosperity of our village. ![]() It will effectively split our community in half. First of all you’ll need to use your DAW to prepare your tracks, in this case we’re using Logic Pro X. So now you’ve recorded your clean D.I you’re ready to start reamping. The D.I box is placed first in the signal chain because you need to ensure you capture a completely clean (free from fx or distortion) guitar signal, which you’ll then be able to send into an amp. However if you’re planning on recording your amp and reamping later then you’ll need to have a couple of pieces of equipment, the most important of those being a D.I box, reamp box and of course an audio interface. If you don’t have an amp to record with or you’re not wanting to record with your own amp, then all you’ll need to do is plug into your interface and record a clean D.I track. Re-amping means you’re able to get the performance down and worry about tone later. Most of the time you’ll find that an idea hits you in the middle of the night when you’re not able to plug into your noisy amp. Reamping is especially useful if you’re recording in a non-studio setting. If you’re not happy with the original tone you recorded, reamping essentially acts as undo (or redo) button meaning you’re able to keep the same performance but tweak the tone of the amp, audition different pedals and experiment with multiple microphones and placement. Radial is proud to continue the Reamp tradition with the new JCR.Reamping is often something that’s overlooked whilst recording, however it can be a lifesaver if your guitar tones aren’t quite what you’re looking for.Īs the name suggests, reamping is the act of capturing a both a clean D.I and your amped sound simultaneously, therefore enabling you to play it back through any guitar amp at a later date and re-recording that tone. In fact, Reamping is the magic ingredient that has brought many of the most esteemed recordings to life. ![]() And Reamping is no longer just for guitars… It is now common to Reamp bass, keyboards, drums, violin… you name it. ![]() With today's unlimited track capabilities, Reamping is now accessible to everyone. The benefits are tremendous: instead of worrying about the sound of the track, you can focus your attention on getting the best musical performance. The Reamp® JCR™ is a passive Reamper™ that allows you to take a prerecorded track and send it back to a guitar or bass amplifier and re-record it. ![]() " Wi-Fi meets Hi-Fi" is the first thing you see on the product page with two of these things with a turntable, it seems pretty clear they are trying to make this out to be a high-end speaker of some sort with a setup like that.
